Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.

Problems
Greetings,
There seems to be a bot (or maybe a user?) going around messing up Iranian pages.
Basically what ends up happening is that you see many red links on Iranian articles, where they used to be blue.
It seems to sever links, or moves links, without moving the redirects. Or something like that. I fixed a lot of its errors on the Qom page.
It goes around deleting some articles too. I could have sworn we had an article on the city of Firouzkouh.
Also, someone is going around dumping way too many photos on Iranian pages. I'll attend to that. But the following photos dont have source info or have unclear tags. Please take care of them:
- Image:Tehran wiki.jpg
- Image:Tehran03.jpg
I think its the new user User:Arad.
Thanx.--Zereshk 21:44, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
Note: One thing I found in many of these errors is that there seems to be some discrepancy going on in converting spaces to %20 or vice versa, or something like that. But that's just an observation. And I may be wrong about it.--Zereshk 22:00, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
- That seems to be a problem. I'll see what it was doing at Qom and track it to other pages.
- According to Special:Undelete/Firouzkouh (which should show the deleted history, unless Brion turned that back off) there was never an article there. If this bot, however, is deleting articles, that is a huge problem. Wikiacc (?) 20:28, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
Image overflow in Tehran
wikiacc,
Im having some trouble keeping the number of images on the Tehran article bounded.
Someone has been uploading images there, and although he claims he took the photographs, evidence suggests otherwise. Consider the following example:
- User:Behrad18n claims he took this photo: Image:Jordan(Africa) Street, Tehran.jpg
- A person named "Arash Dejkam" claims he took the same photo here: [1]
- User:Behrad18n then claims that he also took this photo: Image:Tehran subway.jpg
- But then on another website, the same photo is claimed to have been taken by a "Shahram Razavi" person: [2]
There are other examples too, I reckon. For example: Image:Tehran wiki.jpg Im not sure if it is legally represented. (and behrad18n is uploading stuff all over the place)
If possible, after cleaning up the uploaded images from the Tehran page by this user Behrad18n, please revert back to my last edition, and I will take it from there and try to decrease the number of images by exporting them to other more specific articles, so that we wont have this overflow again.
Thanx again.--Zereshk 00:49, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
- That is a problem. I'll tag and/or delete as necessary. Thanks for alerting me. Wikiacc (?) 21:39, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
Now he is replacing my images with other images. Can you rectify the change he made to Image:40sotoon.jpg ? The new image is not mine. And he continues to upload copyrighted material left and right.--Zereshk 07:20, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

|
Welcome to the inaugural issue of the Military history WikiProject's newsletter! We hope that this new format will help members—especially those who may be unable to keep up with some of the rapid developments that tend to occur—find new groups and programs within the project that they may wish to participate in. Please consider this inital issue to be a prototype; as always, any comments and suggestions are quite welcome, and will help us improve the newsletter in the coming months. Iran
The more pressing point in my opinion, instead of getting the article imminently featured, is the problematic user Aucaman, who continues to vandalize the page, inserting a POV that "Persian Jews are a separate race" (i.e. not Persian).
This user is currently under ArbCom investigation for his obsessive attacks on Iranian articles.
Please tend to this if you can. No official body (CIA, Iranian govt, UN, etc), considers such nonsense ("Persian Jews are not Persian"). Thanx.--Zereshk 02:29, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
- Wikiacc,
- Youre an admin. I cant keep up with the loads of untagged new images that keep getting added to the Iran page. We're already having a hard time trying to keep the page from losing its credible content and turning into a POV war by different users. Marking the questionable images for deletion is much better than reverting the article to an earlier edition (as I have been doing).
- I leave the policing of the new images all in your capable hands. Thanx.--Zereshk 02:49, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

Mount Damavand Picture
About the picture Damavand_in_winter.jpg, I do not know whether if Hamed Khorramyar is the photographer or not.
What is obvious is that he uploaded the same picture in http://www.4d.co.ir (a website dedicated to pictures). But in the same website, (http://www.4d.co.ir/hamed/details.php?image_id=1&sessionid=95dc9cabdd1012af7f09e7c45721ae9e) Hamed Khorramyar mentioned nothing about the copyright of the picture and also it's available for download to everyone. I will try to contact Hamed Khorramyar.I will appreciate if you can find his email for me. (King of Kings 19:38, 17 April 2006 (UTC))
- By law, it is copyrighted unless it is specifically released into the public domain. If Mr. Khorramyar has made such a declaration, it is usually on the page--otherwise it is copyrighted. Wikiacc (?) 20:53, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
- Guys:
My name is Hamed Khorramyar and I am the photographer and copyright owner of Damavand in winter picture.
I saw your discussion on Wiki about the copyright. Hereby I declare all my photos in my both websites Photogallery one and Photogallery two can be used for non comercial use at www.wikipedia.org - I am happy to contribute a very small piece to this project. I am new to Wikipedia, so please guide me, should Arad erase the the picture and I upload it again? or how it works? Please reply in my own user discussion place Thanks.

bug
This one seems to be a bug. It somehow disables images from being shown. Ive already spotted it on 5 or 6 pages. Example:
(if you see the 3 side by side images, then the bug mustve somehow gotten fixed.).--Zereshk 00:22, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
- I don't see three side by side images in the source--although I may not know what to look for. Can you tell me another page you've seen this on? Wikiacc (?) 00:43, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
Iranian Azerbaijan
Hi there,
I just wanted to let you know that user, khoikhoi (MOD) keeps including the very offensive term, "south azerbaijan" on the Iranian Azerbaijan page. We should not let him post this propoganda and false information. That term has no place in an encycolpedia article. It is not relevent to the content. What a few seperatists call that region should not be shown here. If we dont stop this, people will start including the "a#abian gulf" as an alternate name on the Persian gulf page.
KhodahafesDariush4444 (User:Dariush4444) 04:21, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
- I digress. The term should be included, if it is mentioned who exactly uses that term, and its relevance in the history of the region. Additionall, Khoikhoi is a respected member of the Wikipedia community, and known as not one to do something without reason. You imply that Wikipedia should take the anti-separatist point of view--we obviously should not.
- Additionally, you're trying to incite a "call to arms" consensus-stacking campaign, which is always frowned upon here.
- BTW, what does MOD stand for? Wikiacc (?) 19:18, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
Thanks!
