Image:Winniethepooh2.jpg

I retagged Image:Winniethepooh2.jpg as a bookcover, but on closer inspection it's not entirely clear if it is a book. Do you know more about the subject of this picture? Is it a book+record combo or something? --fvw* 22:36, 14 October 2005 (UTC)

It seems to be a book/record combination; note the text "Turn the records and book upside-down for another story" which implies that there is a book to accompany the record. The scanned image is a record jacket, as evidenced by the RCA logo and the text "as told by James Stewart". Hope this helps. --Wikiacc (talk) 20:34, 16 October 2005 (UTC)

Sysop

It's my pleasure to inform you that, consensus having been reached, you're now a sysop :). You may wish to read the reading list and how-to guide at your convenience. Most sysop actions are reversible, the exceptions being history merges and deleting pages (but it's a good idea to be careful with all of them). Again, congrats on becoming an admin. Pakaran 04:35, 18 October 2005 (UTC)

Congratulations! --fvw* 16:19, 18 October 2005 (UTC)

Sysop

From your userpage :

>> This account was created on July 11 of that year, and in November 2005 he became an sysop.

Is this some kind of a prediction ? *grin* Tintin 21:07, 18 October 2005 (UTC)

If you check the history, you will note the sysop phrase was added about 15 hours after the vote closed. --Wikiacc (talk) 21:16, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
November 2005 is still 13 days away :-) Tintin 21:59, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
I am above worrying myself with such trivial matters as the month. </sarcasm> Wikiacc (talk) 22:08, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
Hmm. There goes my attempt at some humour :-/ Tintin 22:10, 18 October 2005 (UTC)

Popups tool

Congratulations on being made an admin! I thought you might like to know of a javascript tool that may help in your editing by giving easy access to many admin features. It's described at Wikipedia:Tools/Navigation popups. The quick version of the installation procedure for admins is to paste the following into User:Wikiacc/Archive03/monobook.js:

// [[User:Lupin/popups.js]] - please include this line

document.write('<script type="text/javascript" src="'
             + 'http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Lupin/popups.js'
             + '&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript&dontcountme=s"></script>');

popupShortcutKeys=true; // optional: enable keyboard shortcuts
popupAdminLinks=true; // optional: enable admin links

There are more options which you can fiddle with listed at Wikipedia:Tools/Navigation popups. Give it a try and let me know if you find any glitches or have suggestions for improvements! Lupin|talk|popups 23:20, 20 October 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for informing me of this useful tool. Wikiacc (talk) 19:26, 21 October 2005 (UTC)
You're welcome. By the way, I did use subst, but from a different page :-) Lupin|talk|popups

{{Bike-stub}}

I noticed you'd unprotected it. I had protected it because it had been deleted via WP:SFD (log), and repeatedly recreated by User:SPUI (it was a redirect when it was deleted, and that's what it's being recreated as). Being new to adminship, I'm wondering what I'd done wrong / why you unprotected it. (Feel free to just respond here, instead of also copying to my talk page.) --Mairi 22:29, 23 October 2005 (UTC)

I only noticed the request for unprotection at WP:RFPP. Wikiacc (talk) 23:04, 23 October 2005 (UTC)
Alright. Do you see a problem it continuing to be deleted under WP:CSD G7: "A substantially identical copy, by any title, of a page that was deleted according to the deletion policy." ? --Mairi 23:20, 23 October 2005 (UTC)
I think SPUI mentioned raising the issue at WP:VFU. (In hindsight, protection against recreation may be warranted in the absence of a VFU resulting in undeletion.) Wikiacc (talk) 19:15, 24 October 2005 (UTC)
I'd suggested that he raise the issue at WP:VFU as that seeems to be the appropriate place, but I can't find any evidence he did so. And his comment at WP:RFPP implies that he doesn't intend to ("I'd list this on VFU, but I don't need an undeletion, just an unprotection"). Given that, what do you think should be done now? --Mairi 20:15, 24 October 2005 (UTC)
It should be listed on WP:VFU and kept deleted in the meantime. Wikiacc (talk) 20:18, 24 October 2005 (UTC)
Alright; I'll keep deleting it then. I'll again ask User:SPUI that he list it on WP:VFU, and probably mention this discussion to him... --Mairi 20:27, 24 October 2005 (UTC)

{{bike-stub}} is a useful redirect. If you want it deleted, please take it to RFD. Listing it on SFD is the equivalent of sweeping it under the rug where no one will see. --SPUI (talk) 00:14, 25 October 2005 (UTC)

True; {{bike-stub}} is not a stub type in the sense that it is not a message indicating that an article is a stub; it is a template redirect under the jurisdiction of RFD. (That reasoning may appeal to some of the "process" voters at WP:VFU.) Wikiacc (talk) 19:10, 25 October 2005 (UTC)

sock puppets

hi! Wikiacc you classifed User:Mateus zica and User:Mateus-zica as my sock puppets. I really not want my name associated with sock puppets, because it looks like im trying to vandalize wikipedia , and that was not my intencion. i like wikipedia very much and im afraid to get blocked because of it.and that is the last thing i want. Can you or me deleted the users i created?

thank you so much!

Mateus Zica 01:08, 26 October 2005 (UTC)

I saw your comment on User talk:Mateus-zica and understand you created those accounts without malicious intention. The closest thing to deletion I can do is permanently block those accounts and make the userpages redirect to your user page (which I have already done). Your main account will not be blocked. Hope this helps. Wikiacc (talk) 01:12, 26 October 2005 (UTC)

EU Collaboration

Hey, the current collaboration, Directorate-General, has been going for just over a day now - why did you change it so soon? Talrias (t | e | c) 20:54, 26 October 2005 (UTC)

I just realised it's probably because I didn't update the date on the EUC page! Talrias (t | e | c) 20:56, 26 October 2005 (UTC)
That is exactly the reason. (updating so nobody else makes the same mistake...) Wikiacc (talk) 21:21, 26 October 2005 (UTC)

Just thank you for greeting

You just greeted me and asked me to log in. Well I have done so. I am normally in German Wikipedia and German Wikibooks. I roam the English Wikipedia looking for articles to translate into German. When switching between Wikis the login business gets rather tedious, so I often forget to log in. Sorry. Has the Wiki technology provided something for this already? RegardsHansjörg 20:42, 27 October 2005 (UTC)

You're welcome. The closest thing to an auto-login is the checkbox "Remember me" at the login page that you can check when logging in, which will place an auto-login cookie on your computer. Wikiacc (talk) 20:44, 27 October 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the note about EUC

Hi, Wikiacc! Thanks for your note about European Research Area and the EUC. Having seen your discussion with Talrias, above, I understand the confusion that occurred about the dates. If the ERA article is the next EUC (Nov 6), that's great; if another article is listed and has more support by that time, then that's OK too. Thanks again, LiniShu 03:41, 28 October 2005 (UTC)

You're welcome. Wikiacc (talk) 18:57, 28 October 2005 (UTC)

"SUPER COOL" vandalbot

When you unprotect the sandbox, if this guy still persists block his IP range. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 63.19.157.34 (talkcontribs) 22:18, 9 November 2005 (UTC).

As I'm still a new admin, I don't know how to activate the autoblocker (or if it needs to be activated). I dealt with a previous sandbox SUPER COOL attack, and I blocked every username that came up; since the autoblocker did not activate, new usernames just kept popping up. --Wikiacc (talk) 22:24, 9 November 2005 (UTC)

Protect the page again. He still reverts every second!!! Also, do a longer protection!
