[edit] Question
Is there an "opposite" tag to this, indicating support for anonymous editing? PeteVerdon 15:03, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, though it`s rather obscure. See Template:User pro-anon. 24.20.69.240 10:27, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Why I'm not against anonymous editing
I would be against anonymous editing, were it not for a policy which bugs the crap out of me. If n people (I'm not sure what n is) register new accounts from the same computer in one 24-hour period, then the (n+1)th person (and everyone after that) can't create a new account. Then the only kind of edit they can make is an anonymous one. If we ban anonymous editing, then that will effectively exclude most Wikipedians (and potential Wikipedians) in the Third World, as well as poorer people in the First or Second Worlds who only have access to shared computers, such as those at libraries or schools.
