Articles that are requested on their talk page appear in this category. These requests can occur when a user cannot find an article on a subject at Wikipedia. The user may find information elsewhere and create a talk page for the would-be article at Wikipedia, mentioning the external source. It should be noted that this is not the official method to request an article, and that logged-in users are encouraged to be bold and create articles that Wikipedia does not have.

Such talk pages are sometimes mistakenly deleted under CSD G8, although they aid the creation of articles and are therefore exempt from this criterion. A template exists to minimise the occurance of this error, {{Futureart}}.
