Wighard

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wighard was a Roman Catholic Saxon priest of the late 7th century. In 664, he was elected to be the Archbishop of Canterbury by Oswiu of Northumbria and Ecgberht of Kent; he was sent to visit Pope Vitalian for confirmation. However, he died before his consecration in Rome, due to the bubonic plague.
