Wickström

Wickström is a Finnish family, orignaly from Swedish speaking Ostrobothnia associated with the production of automobiles and maritime engines.

John Wickström built Chicago’s first automobile in 1898 in his factory, Chicago Motor Cycle Co. An improved model, the Caloric II was presented at the Chicago World's Fair in 1901.

The company in Finland, the Bröderna Wickströms Motor Factory Ab in Vaskiluoto, Vaasa built boat engine under the Wickström brand. The low powered engines where khown for their durability, said to "last for three generations". Between 1906-1980, a total of 30,000 motors were manufactured.
