"Why Not" is singer/actress Hilary Duff's debut single. It was also the main track from the The Lizzie McGuire Movie soundtrack. It was released internationally by Disney International on June 23, 2003. The CD single release included a remix of "Why Not", a remix of "I Can't Wait" and the music video.

[edit] Video
The video first premiered on Disney Channel in June, 2003. Its premiere drew 3.2 million viewers and it was heavily promoted by Disney. The song first broke into MTV when a viewer requested it on the popular show Total Request Live. The catchy beat and the video immediately became a massive success and it debuted on the show the next day at number six. It soon hit the 50-day mark and retired, becoming the first ever Disney video to do so. The video shows Hilary singing from a rooftop with scenes from The Lizzie McGuire Movie accompanying it.
