There is an ongoing discussion about whether it is acceptable for userboxes to be created in Template: namespace. It is recommended that new userboxes be created in userspace. For example, [[User:yourname/UBX/Human]] is preferred to [[Template:User human]]. New userboxes created in the Template namespace, with few exceptions, run a high risk of being deleted. Please read WP:GUS. After reading GUS, if you feel that a new userbox validly created in the Template namespace was wrongly deleted, justify yourself to an admin and ask for it to be undeleted. Since this is very much an on-going discussion, you should add your ideas or comments to this project's talk page or express your opinions on where you think userboxes should be located through the location straw poll.

A userbox is a small box that looks like this.

Userboxes can come in many different styles, including an ID Box on the right side, or even 2 ID Boxes.

Boxes can have one or two sideboxes.
