"Who Knows Where the Time Goes" is a song written by the English folk-rock singer and songwriter Sandy Denny. The song was originally recorded by Denny in 1967 for Saga Records, and again during her time with The Strawbs. It is best known in the version sung by Denny on the Fairport Convention album Unhalfbricking. Cover versions have been recorded by - amongst others - Deanna Kirk, Eva Cassidy, Nina Simone, Lonnie Donegan, Judy Collins, Matthew Sweet, Susanna Hoffs and Cat Power. The Judy Collins version is the title track of her 1968 album, although an earlier version had appeared as the B-side of Both Sides Now. Both of these appeared prior to the Fairport Convention recording.
