Whittier Narrows Dam is a dam on the San Gabriel River in Montebello, California. Built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for flood control, it is a 56-foot (17 m) tall earth dam. Construction of the dam was completed in 1957. Its reservoir has a capacity of 67,060 acre-feet (82,720,000 m³).
