Whitley Bay Football Club is an English football club in the Northern League Division One. They play at the Hillheads Stadium which is adjacent to an ice rink in Whitley Bay. The club spent much of the 1990s in the Unibond League, bit now play in the Northern League following financial problems.
Whitley Bay F.C. have twice hit the national sports headlines in recent years. The first was in 1990 after beating Preston North End on the way to reaching the 3rd round proper of the FA Cup, where they were beaten by Rochdale. The second was in 2002 when they won the FA Vase, beating Tiptree United at Villa Park.
They were Champions of the Northern Premier League First Division in 1991.
