White Waltham Airfield (ICAO: EGLM), is located at White Waltham, near Maidenhead in Berkshire. The airfield was set up in the 1920s and used by the Air Transport Auxiliary in the Second World War[citation needed]. It was originally the home field of the de Havilland aeroplane manufacturing company[citation needed], It is now in private hands and is the home of the West London Aero Club. The airfield is said to be the largest grass-strip airfield in Europe, and boasts three runways[citation needed]. Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh was taught to fly at White Waltham[citation needed].
White Waltham Airfield has a CAA Public Use Aerodrome Licence (Number P773) that allows flights for the public transport of passengers or for flying instruction.
