The White Horse Tavern, located in New York City's borough of Manhattan at Hudson Street and 11th Street, is famous for its 1950s and '60s Bohemian culture. The bar opened in 1880. It is perhaps most famous as the place where Dylan Thomas overdosed on alcohol before he died.

Other famous patrons include The Clancy Brothers (who performed at the establishment), Norman Mailer, James Baldwin, Seymour Krim, Richard Fariña, Jane Jacobs, and Hunter S. Thompson. It continues to be popular today with tourists.
