The White-lipped Peccary, Tayassu pecari, is a peccary species found in Central and South America, living in rainforest, dry forest and chaco scrub. It's the largest peccary species.

White-lipped peccaries are diurnal and live in large herds of 50 to 300+ individuals, while there have been reported sightings of up tot 2,000 individuals. They are omnivorous animals, feeding on fruits, roots, tubers, palm nuts, grasses and invertebrates.

Like collared peccaries they belong to the main prey species of jaguars and, less frequently, of pumas.
