[edit] Expanding the article=

This page is under consideration for deletion, but, given the flow of the vote there, it shouldn't be long before that issue is resolved in favor of retention.

Therefore, it is time to expand this article and see if we can get it up to Feature Article standards. Wikipedia needs to cover this topic, since it is in such frequent current use. I have given it a passable introduction and the beginning of outline. I would like to see it improved upon. I am sure that whisper campaigns are used in the marketplace as often as they are on the campaign trail, but I don't have any solid evidence of that. I am sure that someone does.

No offense is intended to anyone who has edited this in the past, but this topic is a lot bigger than Karl Rove -although he might well qualify for his very own section and a See also link!

Also, I took off the politics stub because politics is not the main topic IMHO. I don't think that using multiple stub messages is appreciated. If that is the practice, please put one back in.--Mddake 08:37, 2 August 2005 (UTC)

No problem--thanks for the expansion. One note--you might want to supply some sources, or at least examples, for the uses in international relations. I also re-added the poli-stub tag, since it's OK to have more than one stub tag on an article. Meelar (talk) 14:55, August 2, 2005 (UTC)
I ran out of time as I was completing that edit. I plan to find some evidence later today. As long as the article doesn't give the impression that the whisper campaign is exclusively a political thing and multiple stub categories are OK.--Mddake 01:53, 3 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] flyer that was used against McCain

does anyone have a copy or transcript of one of the flyer that was used against McCain in 2000?

BTW I like this version better than mine.

Thanks. I read a lot of encyclopedias as a kid, so the writing style comes pretty naturally, after a fashion. --Mddake 01:53, 3 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] VFD results

This article has survived a VFD nomination with the result of Keep. --Allen3 talk 12:10, August 7, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Title

Surely this should be "whisphering campaign"; that's the formulation I'm familiar with, and it has far more Google returns than "whisper campaign", which sounds wrong. -Ashley Pomeroy 08:52, 25 September 2005 (UTC)
