Wheelock Whitney III (born 1949 in Minnesota) is an American art historian, author[1] , and philanthropist[2] living in New York City[3]. He has contributed a more than a dozen notable 17th, 18th and 19th century French paintings to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York[4].
