Wheel of Fortune was an American television program airing from 1952 to 1953 on CBS in both daytime and nighttime versions. The series was hosted by Todd Russell and announced by Hal Simms.
The format of the show involved rewarding everyday people who had done good deeds in their life by having their stories told on national TV, then allowing them to spin a prize wheel onstage and being awarded that prize. Occasionally, the lucky spin afforded the good samaritan the chance to win $1000 in cash by answering a trivia question.
The show used the Kay Starr song "Wheel of Fortune" as its theme.
