[edit] THIS CD IS AWESOME!

My Personal Review:

    1. Song - Description Pros: pros Cons: cons Lyric: "lyric"
    1. Carlotta Valdez - This song is fast-paced, an in-your-face opener. Based on the movie vertigo directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Pros: heavy and fun, narrative lyrics. Cons: may be unattractivewhen you first listen to it, because of it's rythem, but it will grow on you. Lyric: "Jimmy Stuart follows Kim to where you portait hangs on a wall..."
    1. Flagpole Sitta - Hyper and fun, and very addicting. No wonder people consider HD to be a one-hit wonder. Pros: clever lyrics and pop riffs. Cons: has the potential to be overplayed. Lyric: "I'm not sick but I'm not well"
    1. Wooly Muffler - This song starts out slow, but rises to an awesomely emotional and somewhat cyincal chorus Pros: maxims and metaphors in the lyrics, beatiful accompaniment to Flagpole Cons: None! Lyric: "Heres the ball, here's the pole now wheres the tether? ...I never much cared much, too much to begin with..."
    1. Private Helicopter - a relationship-based song about old friends reuniting. very upbeat and pleasant. Pros: easy listening Cons: also has the potential for being overplayed Lyric: "but I'm told I hold on to my anger for too long, until it's joke, the night is cold, the joke is old, AND POORLY TOLD! (I told you what)"
    1. Problems and Bigger Ones - this is another relationship song, though a lot more of a downer than the last one. Pros: beautifully sad and emotional Cons: listening to this song too often may cause you to become sad and emotional Lyric: "The man was very helpful, but I knew he wouldnt stay...There used to be a baby but the baby went away"
    1. Jack the Lion - a sad and energetic song about a father(?) dying. it feels upbeat, but the lyrics show some great loss. Pros: You can practically hear the emotion seeping through your stereo. Cons: None! Lyric: "He's surrounded by loved ones, and that only goes so far...and does he know where he is? I doubt it." Another lyric "We thank you for uniting, we thank you for the cause. We thank you for the lion, we thank you for the claws."
    1. Old Hat - an upper, finally. very relieving after Jack the Lion. The kind of song that goes with a first date. Pros: full of great lyrics. Cons: none. Lyric: "I forget what my friends look like, and they forget why they like me, but that old hat makes me so happy...How do you write about that?"
    1. Terminal Annex - a great match for Old Hat, except it's the kind of song that goes with a first breakup. although upbeat, it revolves around some apparently bad experiences with people.Pros: it has Harvey Danger showing off their awesome simile/metaphor-making skills. Cons: None. Lyric: "Dreaming of the fistfight I never got into...Thinking of the mean shit I wish I'd said to you..." Another lyric "Like a zero drowning in a sea of higher numbers, I think that I liked you better when you just ignored me."
    1. Wrecking ball - this song is slow and heavy. a tragic look at a broken past. a lot of imagery in the lyricsPros: great lyrics, wonderfully sung Cons: if you dont like slow songs, then you may not like it Lyric: "Run from nowhere, Nowhere follows you."
    1. Radio Silence - slow at the beggining, but steadily rises in volume. the lyrics seem like a collection of witty maxims. At the end is a bizzare noise that is actually the distorted leftovers of (theme from) Carjack Fever (from the album King James Version) Pros: wonderful words Cons: After Wrecking ball has lulled you to sleep, Radio Silence with its gradual rise will unpleasantly wake you back up. Lyric: "Nobody likes what I like, thats how I like it"

all in all, I love this album.
