What Witches Do by Stewart Farrar is presented as an eye-witness account of what witches and wiccans do in their recreation and interpretation of purported ancient ceremonial rites. The author has been a featured speaker at the Starwood Festival presented by the Association for Consciousness Exploration LLC (ACE) as an expert in neo-paganism.

Mr. Farrar describes himself as a practicing witch and a member of an active Coven. He explores his version of the fundamental beliefs and premises of Witchcraft and explains his interpretation of its symbolism. The ceremonies presented appear to be drawn from a variety of pagan and Druid sources with the religious practices of Indians and other groups added to the mix.

Much of the book concerns itself with quoting participants in Wiccan rites, with some academic description for the uninitiated. The author was taking classes in Witchcraft at the time of the book's writing.
