What I Got
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
What I Got is a song from Sublime's third, self-titled album and was the band's biggest radio hit. This song was one of the most popular songs of 1997 and is still played on radio today.
The song's chorus is borrowed from the song "Loving" by Half-Pint, and aspects of the melody from Lady Madonna, by The Beatles. Half-Pint has since performed songs with the Long Beach Dub All Stars (Which includes the two surviving members of Sublime).
Contains a sample of the words 'Too Short' from "Life Is... Too Short" by Too $hort.
A seven-song What I Got EP was released in 1997 containing the following tracks:
- "What I Got" (Kahne Radio Edit)"
- "40 Oz. to Freedom"
- "D.J.s"
- "All You Need"
- "Same in the End"
- "Work That We Do"
- "Doin' Time (Marshall Arts Remix)" featuring The Pharcyde
