WGCS, branded as 91.1 The Globe is a college radio station based in Goshen, Indiana.
It is affiliated with Goshen College. WGCS first began broadcasting a classical music format in October of 1958 with limited hours of operation. Over time programming was added that included Spanish language progamming (1982) and contemporary folk, bluegrass and americana. In 2003 WGCS began broadcasting 24 hours a day.
On June 20, 2004, WGCS adopted the moniker "The Globe" and switched to its current format of Amerciana, Triple A and World Beat music. Since 2003, the station added broadcasts of Goshen College soccer, basketball, softball and baseball. In the late summer of 2005 Penn High School (Mishawaka, Indiana) football was added to the broadcast schedule.
WGCS reports its playlists to the Americana Music Assocation weekly album chart which is available online and in the industry publication, Radio & Records.
