[edit] History

WFXP-TV signed on the air May 15, 1986 as WETG-TV, operated by Gannon University. At that time, the studio and production facilities were in the basement of The Nash Library, at 619 Sassafrass Street, Erie, PA. 5 months later, WETG became Erie's charter Fox affiliate. The assigned transmitter power of the earlier call station was significantly more modest than the other commercial stations at the time.
