WFAX was a Jazz/Swing station. There was a bit of country and a couple of teen shows mixed in. To say that it was a 'Christian format' station is a gross mis-representation. In the 1950s it carried the minimum allowed religious programming. The Founder of the radio station was Lamar Newcombe. However, in the 1960s, the station broadcast regular Christian programming, and has done so to this day.
