Weston (Bath) railway station
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Weston (Bath) was a small railway station in Bath about a mile west of Bath Green Park railway station on the Midland Railway line. It was served by stopping trains to Mangotsfield and Bristol, via Bitton and Oldland Common. The station closed in 1953, though the railway line did not close until 1966 for passangers and 1971 for goods trains.
Despite being named after the Weston suburb of Bath, it was in fact some distance from Weston and closer to the subsequently developed Newbridge area of Bath.
The station building still exists and is used as offices, including those of the Bath FM radio station.
