Westland Gardens
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Westland Gardens is a group of apartments and townhomes around the University of Maryland Baltimore County in Baltimore, USA. It is just around 1.5 miles away from the main campus and hence it is a popular location choice for many of the university students, particularly foreign students. The typical monthly rent ranges between $650 for a 1 bed-room apartment to $900 for a 2 bed-room townhome with A/C. The houses are a bit old and are not as good as some of the neighboring complexes like the Maiden Choice apartments, but cheaper rent and closer access to major service utilities are a plus. It is serviced by grocery outlets including Mars and Giant and other amenities like Rite Aid, Great Clips saloons, a couple of Chinese restaurants, Subway, and RadioShack are all close by.
The place is generally considered safe compared to many other neighborhoods in the area, though there has recently been a spurt of mugging and robbery incidents reported by the residents. The place is served by a MTA bus route 35 and the Halethorpe railroad station for Amtrak and MARC (about 2 miles away from Westland), along with the BWI airport (7 miles away).
