Leptoglossus occidentalis Heidemann, 1910 |
Western conifer seed bugs (Leptoglossus occidentalis) do not sting or bite, they simply spray an offending smell. When in flight they make a buzzing noise. They are not damaging or destructive to your home or lawn. They are related to the wheel bug and assassin bug, but can be recognized by the expanded hind legs. They are true bugs and suck the sap of trees.
