[edit] Law and Business Center for Advancing Entrepreneurship
The Western New England College Law and Business Center for Advancing Entrepreneurship was established to offer graduate business and law students an opportunity to provide practical consultation to entrepreneurs starting new and building existing small businesses. The Small Business Clinic, one of five clinics associated with the School of Law, is the cornerstone program of the Center. The Clinic pairs students from the Schools of Law and Business to offer legal and business consultation to small businesses in the area. Areas of expertise include legal advice in corporate and commercial law as well as business advice on marketing, human resources, and competitive analysis.
[edit] Transformations: The Campaign for Western New England College
On September 19, 2006, Western New England College officially announced the most ambitious fundraising campaign in the College's history, a $20 million effort that will enable the College to advance its mission of helping students achieve their educational and career goals. Transformations: The Campaign for Western New England College is the first time the College has undertaken a comprehensive campaign with multiple priorities. The College was also awarded an $800,000 Challenge Grant from The Kresge Foundation. In order to receive these funds from The Kresge Foundation, the College must reach $19.2 million by December 31, 2007.
One of the major projects that will be funded through the donations to the capital campaign is a $5.5 million expansion to the S. Prestley Blake Law Center. Groundbreaking on the expansion is expected to begin in the spring of 2007 and the new wing will include seminar, study, and meeting rooms; an expanded library; and modernization of several classrooms and the Moot Court Room.
