West River (Rhode Island)

The West River is a river in Providence County, Rhode Island flowing approximately 5 miles. It is the only major tributary of the Moshassuck River and has a history of providing water to textile mills during the Industrial Revolution.

The West River rises in the rolling hills of the southwestern part of Lincoln and proceeds to flow due south to Wenscott Reservoir. Below the reservoir, the river meanders southeast through North Providence and into Providence where it flows into the Moshassuck River north of downtown.
