West London Institute of Higher Education

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The West London Institute of Higher Education was effectively the West London College of the University of London for many years. Operating over two campuses, one in East Twickenham, Middlesex and the other in Isleworth it had a strong reputation for sport and a powerful Philosophy department headed by the indomitable Raymond Holley. In 1994 it merged with Brunel University but in recent years has seen the East Twickenham campus sold off to property developers.

The college's luminaries include Paul Honeyford, a successful author and linguist and Dave Heaven, a musician of some renown.
