West End High School is located at 1840 Pearson Avenue SW Birmingham, AL. The building was built in 1930. The school mascot is the lion. The current principal is Allen Lewis. The school is a member of the Birmingham Public School system. West End High School is school also know for its basketball program. The lion won two straight class 6A State titles in the 96-97 and 97-98 school years. West End was also hte last Birmingham City School to compete in the class 6A title game in football during the 93-94 school year. The lion finished 13-2 that year and they were led by a defence dubbed the dog pound
