West Bretton

West Bretton is a village in the county of West Yorkshire, England, 7 miles from Wakefield city centre and just off junction 38 of the M1 motorway. There is a school in the village - West Bretton Junior and Infant School, and a church. There is no pub in the village itself but the Black Bull at Midgley, the Station pub and the Old Post Office pub are nearby. The closest shop to the village is the excellent Blacker Hall farm shop which sells lots of local produce. The village is also the home of Bretton Hall and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, consisting of 0.80 kmĀ² (200 acres) of landscaped ground with a large collection of sculptures, including some by Elisabeth Frink, Rodin , and Barbara Hepworth, born in Wakefield. In Bretton Country Park there are many sculptures by Henry Moore, born in Castleford.
