West Bengal Legislative Assembly

The West Bengal Legislative Assembly — the Vidhan Sabha is the unicameral legislature of the Indian state of West Bengal. It is situated in the B.B.D. Bagh area of Kolkata (Calcutta) — the capotal of the state. Members of the Legislative assembly are directly elected by the people. The upper house the Legislative council are indirectly elected through an electoral college. The assembly consistsof 295 M.L.A. including one nominated from the Anglo-Indian community. Its term is 5 years, unless sooner dissolved.
