West-Knollendam

West-Knollendam (52°31′N 4°47′E) is a town in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Zaanstad, and lies about 15 km northwest of Amsterdam. The village is located on the Zaan River. On the opposite shore lies Oostknollendam, in the municipality of Wormerland.

In 2001, the town of West-Knollendam had 468 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.09 km2, and contained 172 residences.[1] The slightly larger statistical district "West-Knollendam" has a population of around 490.[2]
