Wes Shoemaker

Wes Shoemyer (born March 30, 1961) is a farmer and current Democratic member of the Missouri House of Representatives. He resides in Clarence, Missouri, with his wife Cheryl Allen and their four children, Wendy, Laura, Amy and Andrew.

He was born in Hannibal, Missouri, and moved to Shelby County, Missouri, as a child, graduating from the South Shelby County R-IV High School. He went on to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia. He married in 1980, and currently owns and operates a family farm in Monroe County, Missouri.

He attends Oak Grove Baptist Church, and is a member of the National Farmers Organization, the Missouri Farmers Union, Insitutute for Rural America, NEMO Grain Processors, Shelbina Lodge 228 AF and AM, and the Monroe County Democratic Club.

He was first elected to the Missouri House of Representatives in 2000, winning reelection in 2002 and 2004. He currently sits on the following committees:

  • Agriculture Policy,
  • Budget, and
  • Professional Registration and Licensing.
