Wenyi Yang (born January 11, 1972 in Shanghai) is a former freestyle and backstroke swimmer from China, whose best performance was winning the gold medal in the 50 m freestyle at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. She began swimming training in Shanghai Sports Club in 1978, breaking national records for different age group on eighteen occasions. Selected as a member of the Shanghai municipal swimming team in 1984, Yang joined the national team for intensified training two years later.
