Wentworth Military Academy is a private military academy located in Lexington, Missouri, in the United States. It was founded in 1880 by Stephen G. Wentworth, as an all boys military academy. At this institution young men (and today women) are taught discipline, organization and leadership skills.

In its varied history Wentworth Military Academy has been a source of guidance and education for many soldiers in the United States Army. This institution molds wayward young adults and young adults with military career aspirations into successful and law-abiding citizens. It has continued to thrive and physically expand, unlike former rival Kemper Military Academy, due to its dedicated alumni-dominated administration. Many of the adacemy's administrators, including its superintendent, are former attendies/graduates that are dedicated to the school's continued survival.

Through the Early Commissioning Program (ECP), members of the ROTC (Reserve Officer's Training Corps) Program are granted a commission as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army after their second year in college. Normally, officers are granted their commissions after four years of college. This commission is contingent on the officer's completion of his bachelor's degree within three years of obtaining the commission.

Wentworth Military Academy is a unique commissioning source because it has high school and junior college cadets in one institution. The last year of Junior High was the Class of 2006. In the ROTC program, this makes Wentworth a "Military Junior College" or MJC. These are military schools that provide high school and junior college education. These schools do not grant baccalaureate degrees but meet all other requirements of military colleges. They administer both the Junior and Senior ROTC programs
