Wellness (pet food)

Wellness is a brand name of holistic dog and cat foods, manufactured and marketed by Old Mother Hubbard company. Their dog food line was first put on the market in 1999, developed with the assistance of a group of animal nutrition experts. A year later they introduced a line of cat foods. Their foods contain no animal by-products, no rendered animal fats, no preservatives, and no artificial colors or flavorings.
In 2005, the company made changed to the ingredients and production methods in its dog food formulas. There were many anecdotal reports of dogs which previously enjoyed the formula to not eat the new formulation; and other anecdotal reports of dogs which showed an increased preference with the new formulation.
