Welford-on-Avon, Warwickshire, is a village of around 1,800 inhabitants 4 miles out of Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire. Until 1931 the village was in Gloucestershire.

It has a village shop (the Maypole Stores), a village salon, a butcher's shop, a garage, St Peter's Church, and three pubs: The Bell, The Shakespeare and The Four Alls. It also has a small primary school, park, and football and cricket pitches. The River Avon runs through it.

It is home to the tallest Maypole in England, previously in the world, until apart of it broke.

Ten penny Cottage that is down Boat Lane wad commonly used as the picture on chocolate tins by Cadbury. The view also encludes the tower of St. Peter's church.

The writer J. B. Priestley briefly lived here.
