Welda, Kansas

Welda is a township in the Anderson County in the state of Kansas. The largest city in that county is Garnett which is also county seat. The postal code of Welda is 66091 and the coordination 8°9′44″N, 95°19′17″W.
As of 2005, the population totals 301 inhabitants, the area totals 1,513 km² (584 mi²).
History: The township was created August 25, 1855 with the construction of the rail station. The name was given during the construction of the rail station, probably from the construction team. Today, Welda has one elementary school and several shops as well as a church.
There is a village also called Welda [1] in Germany next to Warburg in Westphalia.
