"Welcome to My Truth" is a biographical song recorded by American pop singer Anastacia. It was co-written by Anastacia, Kara DioGuardi and John Shanks. The song appears on Anastacia's 2003 studio album Anastacia and is the third single from the album. In it Anastacia sings about her strained relationship with her father, who left when she was a little girl and never tried to contact her.

[edit] Music video
The video was filmed on July 17th and 18th (2004), in The Valley, California, USA. The video was directed by Diane Martel.
In the music video, a young girl is shown noticing her parents having a fight, while clips are shown of Anastacia in a garden singing that "she has hit about a million walls". At the second verse, the little girl is shown playing with toys and watching TV with her brother and mother. When the chorus reprises, the girl is at school making a portrait of Mona Lisa, for which she is given a medal. When she gets home, she sticks the #1 prize to the refrigerator so her mom will see it and be proud of her. The mom, however, doesn't look at her prize and walks by it. Next, the child is shown painting a happy painting. It represents that even though her life isn't as perfect as she wants it to be, due to her parents fighting all the time, she can still be happy.

[edit] Chart performance
"Welcome to My Truth" wasn't as successful as the other two singles from Anastacia's self-titled album, unable to reach the top ten in most European countries. Although it did not peak at #1 like the two former singles, the single was one of her most successful singles in Spain, reaching the number 3 position in the Spanish Los 40 airplay chart and remaining in the chart for 25 weeks.
