[edit] Personal Life
He was born in Toronto, Ontario and is of Scottish and English descent. He also claims, tongue in cheek, Asian stock as his maternal Grandmother was born in China. However, she was born while her birth parents were serving as Methodist Missionaries in the area.
His Username is taken from the Beanbag album of the same name, and the year of his birth. He has been Christian since his late teens, and has actively supported numerous Third World Relief agencies, having worked with World Vision and donated to Médecins Sans Frontières in recent years. He currently attends Redeemer University College, studying Literature and Theatre Arts.
[edit] Music
Scott is an avid guitarist and bassist, favouring Godin guitars and Fender P-basses. He counts The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Rush among his favourite bands.
[edit] Stage
Scott is, by his own admission, a poor actor, but he enjoys it nonetheless. His roles have been few, but challenging in their own right. His first scene study was from David Mamet's American Buffalo, and his first major onstage role was in William Shakespeare's Macbeth as Murderer #1 in March of 2004. He has since switched his focus to the technical aspects of Theatre, building a set for Perfect Pie, arranging a sound design for Lady Windermere's Fan, and running the lights for The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged). Scott was Stage Manager for Josh MacDonald's "Halo" in fall 2006, and plans on directing a stripped-down production of William Shakespeare's Love's Labour's Lost in 2007.
[edit] Writing
During his tenure at Redeemer, Scott became an avid writer known for his quick wit and dry humor. He is a regular contributor to Redeemer's student newspaper, The Crown. In 2006, he wrote the short play Passenger Seat, the first full-length appearance of Leon and Erin, characters he plans to be present in much of his work. They were first introduced in the vignette "The Theory".
His next project is an expansion of Passenger Seat into a full-length screenplay which will add material to the existing Passenger Seat text, which will also include an expansion of "The Theory".
A filmed version of "The Theory" is currently in production.
[edit] Film
Scott is the founder of Antihero Productions, which he plans to use as a channel for his Films, Plays, and Music. He is also co-writing a screenplay with his brother Matt, which they will co-direct, and plan to release via Antihero Films. His cameras of choice are a Hi-8 camcorder and the video function of his digital camera, which he prefers, as it makes digital editing "a breeze".
