Template talk:Weight

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Examples:

  • {{weight|kg=70}} → 70 kg (154 lb)
  • {{weight|pounds=154}} → 154 lb (70 kg)
  • {{weight|kg=73.34|round=2}} → 73.34 kg (161.35 lb)
  • {{weight|lb=154|kg=55}} → 154 lb (55 kg) (but why use this template if you aren't going to actually want conversion?)

To do:

  • Generalize it for use with other units, such as ounces, etc. — May. 30, '06 [10:31] <freak|talk>

This appears to be used with Template:Infobox NBA player, and there is no reason to include any decimal fractions of a pound or of a kilogram, so I have removed them, and have fixed the symbol from "lbs" to "lb" (see WP:MOSNUM). Gene Nygaard 06:19, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

  • I added a round parameter with a default of zero - everyone who's expecting whole numbers will get them, but also allows for greater precision in conversion.
