Talk:Weakly compact cardinal

You know, I have a BA in Mathematics and an MS in Computer Science, and I still can't understand this article. It would really be worth someone saying some of this more verbosely in relative layman's terms. -- Jmabel 23:16, 30 Jan 2004 (UTC)
- Half a year later, this remains the situation. -- Jmabel 01:54, Jul 26, 2004 (UTC)

- CS won't help you with understanding this at all, unless you work in a very specialized area relating to mathematical set theory, and the same really goes for math. It's hard to explain this concept in layman's terms without becoming overly broad, but I'll try to add something. -- Schnee 15:36, 26 Jul 2004 (UTC)

- I wasn't suggesting that the CS work was directly relevant. (As it happens, I also did grad work in topology, but it was almost 30 years ago.) Your addition is very useful: it finally provides a context. -- Jmabel 00:39, Jul 27, 2004 (UTC)
