[edit] Song Information

Recently, a remix with Cash Money President and Founder Brian "Baby" Williams was released. Although the song is regarded as many fans and DJ's as "The Official Remix" it is in fact only an official Cash Money remix; the real remix is slated to feature T.I., P. Diddy, and Lil' Wayne. A remix was played on Funk Master Flex's radio show on Hot 97 on October 5th, 2006 which featured T.I., Diddy, Baby and Young Dro and has been leaked on the internet. The intro of the song has a sample of "Mr Cool" by Rasputin's Stash. The video for the remix aired on December 1st on access granted on BET. The remix includes T.I., Diddy, Juelz Santana, Baby, and Young Dro.The song is filmed through Los Angeles ending at the mansion of bordeau. (Juelz Santana, however, is only in the music video, while his verse is replaced by Jermaine Dupri on the album version.)

[edit] Popularity

"We Fly High" has started to become popular throughout the US in October 2006. Started by the New York Giants' Michael Strahan against the Washington Redskins in October, he and his fellow teammates began celebrating sacks and other key defensive plays by taking "jump shots" in the air. [1] The NFL issued a "clarification" two weeks later to remind the Giants that if their celebrations included two or more players, that they would be penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct. [2] The song is also extremely popular across the Tri-state area (New York metropolitan area), when played in the clubs it is typical for everyone to take "jump shots" when Jim Jones says "ballin'." The dance in the video along with the jump shot has been named the "Fadeaway" by Jones.

Jones has also made a "We Fly High" remix for the New York Giants and a "We Fly High" reggaeton version which features Jones, Tego Calderon & Don Omar.

Jim Jones has released a response diss to Jay-Z' song "Brooklyn High" also on the "We Fly High" beat. Less than a day after Jay-Z diss record came out, Jim Jones and Juelz Santana released a remix called "We Fly High Beef Mix" getting back at Jay-Z. Most of the shots were from Jim Jones.

The song has become Jim Jones' most successful single to date, peaking at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming his first top ten single. The single also remains his most successful single on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks and Hot Rap Tracks, peaking at #4 and #2, respectively.
