We Drink Ritalin
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
We Drink Ritalin is an animutation made by Robinson Wilburn (A.K.A. Insert_name_here on Newgrounds), also author of "Fun with pop-culture". It features Alex Chiu, Adolf Hitler, and other pop culture figures set to the tune of a eurobeat song, accompanied by close, but absurd, approximations of the lyrics. It is viewable here.
The video eventually became somewhat of an Internet phenomenon, being showcased on several different websites, including Newgrounds and YouTube.
The song featured in We Drink Ritalin is the English version of "Hot Limit" by John Desire, also seen in Konami's Dance Dance Revolution 5thMIX video game. ("Hot Limit" is a Japanese song by T.M.Revolution.) "Hot Limit" by John Desire is different from most songs featured in animutations in that the lyrics are actually in the English language. However, they are sung phonetically by an Italian group who's trying very hard to sound American to lyrics (presumably) translated by the Japanese themselves, thus rendering the result as nearly-unintelligible gibberish (see Engrish). For instance, "We Drink Ritalin" is a close approximation of the singers' pronunciation of the lyrics "Wishing, revealing."
