Nexstar Broadcasting Group purchased WDHN, an ABC affiliate, from Morris Multimedia on August 1, 2003. Nexstar began providing programming to and selling the advertising time for WDHN under a time brokerage agreement in February of 2003. The station has improved its revenue share by focusing on sales projects and better inventory management. With additional investment from Nexstar, WDHN launched a new 6pm newscast in the fall of 2003. The station’s syndicated programming includes Montel Williams, Dr. Phil and Access Hollywood. The station broadcasts both analog and digital signals for viewers.WDHN broadcasts on analog channel 18. The station's transmitter is located behind their studios on Alabama state highway 52|Route 52] in Webb, Alabama]], approximately 6 miles east of Dothan.

WDHN signed on on August 7, 1970], under ownership of a group of investors headed by Betts Slingluff, Jr. In 1979, Slingluff's group sold WDHN to Hi Ho Television, which also owned WVGA in Valdosta, Georgia. In 1986, Hi Ho sold WDHN and WVGA to Morris Multimedia. In 2003, Nexstar Broadcasting purchased WDHN from Morris.

The station has always been an ABC affiliate.

News 18 airs weekdays from 5:30-7:00 a.m., 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Anchors include Jonelle Merrill, Kevin Presley, Greg Dee (weather), and Kim Allen (sports).
