[edit] History and programming

When it began on March 13, 1983 WCWV was the only Hot Adult Contemporary station in Nicholas County, West Virginia Nicholas County, West Virginia using the moniker "C-93 FM". The station played music from a prerecorded/semi-live track broadcasted from another location which was also being played on multiple other small local radio stations in southern West Virgina and other areas. On Sundays the station turned its airwaves over to local churches for playing of praise, hymnal songs, and sermons. WCWV-FM was also the closest station for hearing broadcast of Marshall University football and basketball games as well as the only station broadcasting football and some basketball games from Nicholas County High School, but did not broadcast any games from the other Nicholas County secondary school, Richwood High School. As a Hot AC station the station performed poorly with advertisers and listeners who chose to listen and sell advertising to CHR/Top 40 station WCIR-FM located in Beckley, WV. As of October 2006 the station has changed its format to a Southern Gospel music format stll giving its Sunday airwaves over to local churches for songs and sermons. The station building is located at 713 Main Street in Summersville, WV and was or is still owned by R-S Broadcasting Company Inc.
