WCRD
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
WCRD, "The Broken Wing of College Radio", is a radio station operated by students of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. The station's FCC identification is WHHI, Muncie, and is carried on FM 91.3. However, the station is named WCRD, which originally stood for Cardinal Radio Dave, after alumnus David Letterman, and now stands for "We're College Radio on Demand" as of 2006.
The station's format is primarily rock and top 40, however listener requests, DJ's choice, as well as College Radio Format are also played. This new format was implemented in 2006 after switching away from only using College Radio Format and DJ's choice.
The station is operated out of the Ball Communications Building on the Ball State University campus.
WCRD obtained the license for educational station WHHI in 2005 from Muncie Southside High School, where the tower is located, allowing the station to broadcase beyond their carrier circuit only available on campus.
A live stream of the station is also available on WCRD's website as well as WCRH=TV, Channel 55 on Ball State's campus.
