Origin Los Angeles, California

WC (born William L. Calhoun, Jr.)in 1970 is an African American gangsta rapper from South Los Angeles, California. Known for his long braided goatee, sharp lyricism, and C-Walking, "Dub-C" has been a staple in West Coast gangsta rap since the late 1990s. WC was charged with murder in the fall of 1993 after an altercation outside of a Long Beach nightclub. WC was accused of pistol whipping an East Coast gang member then shooting him in the back. All charges against WC were dropped and placed on another member of his posse. It was from this instance that he was given the nick name "The Killa" as a member of Westside Connection. Other members of the group include Ice Cube aka "The Gangsta" and Mack 10 aka "The Dope Deala." He is also an inactive member of the 111 Neighbourhood Crips.

WC began his career with underground rap groups such as Low Profile and The Maad Circle before forming supergroup Westside Connection with gangsta rap heavyweights Ice Cube and Mack 10. Their 1996 debut album, Bow Down, became a sizeable hit, going platinum and charting #2 on the Billboard album chart, with the title track reaching #21 on the singles charts.

His 1998 solo debut, The Shadiest One, landed in the Top 20, featuring such singles as "Cheddar," "Just Clownin' " and "Better Days." The cassette-single version of "Better Days" featured Jon B. on backup vocals.

The Ghetto Heisman followed in 2002 and featured the song "The Streets," which also landed in the Top 20.

His next album is titled "Guilty by Affiliation", which is in progress and is expected to be released in 2006 on Ice Cube's Lench Mob Records. The upcoming album is already advertised on Ice Cube's Laugh Now, Cry Later album.

WC remains good friends with fellow rapper Ice Cube, and WCs last performance was with Ice Cube during VH1's 2006 Hip Hop Honors in which they both performed "Go To Church".

WC was recently featured on The Game's One Blood remix.
