WBGN-LP is a Class A qualified low-powered independent station located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The station is owned and operated by the Bruno-Goodworth Network. WBGN-LP began broadcasting in 1995 on channel 59 with the call sign W59BT. WBGN identifies itself as WBGN-TV to eliminate any confusion to viewers as to what WBGN is. WBGN simulcasts on nine (9)LPTV television stations that are strategically located throughout the Pittsburgh DMA. This combined signal makes WBGN's coverage equal to or greater than the existing full power network affiliates in the Pittsburgh Market. WBGN is one of the few LPTV stations in the country that is "reportable" by Nielsen Media Research. This reportability allows WBGN to compete in the marketplace with all of the Pittsburgh network affiliates for programming, promotion and advertising dollars.
